Has your reason for running/living an active lifestyle changed over the years? If so, what is it now?
Definitely. I run to find new ways to challenge myself. I run to keep a healthy lifestyle. I run for my mental health. I run because I'm grateful to still be here. I run through the city to view it through a different lens. I run for the warmth of the sunrise. I run to feel the runners high. I run to inspire others. There are so many reasons to run!
What pushes you to be the best person you can be?
A few years ago I struggled with depression and anxiety and was in a really dark chapter of my life. When I think back on those years compared to where I am in my life now, I feel so blessed to still be here, thriving. This second chance at life is what motivates me to be the best person I can be.
Besides running, what other hobbies/activities do you like doing?
Aside from running, I enjoy pilates, the outdoors, making digital collages, and binge-watching shows. I also love dim sum and hot chicken...
What is a quote you like to live by?
A piece of advice my mom gave me: One day at a time.
Goals for 2020-2021:
• Being the best I can be. All day, every day.
• I'm not the best at swimming, so I'd love to work at that. Maybe you're looking at a tri-athlete in the making?
